Disabled Young People's Project

The Atlas project is an activities based project for young people with physical disabilities. The project is designed to tackle social exclusion and boost the confidence of young people with physical disabilities. The young people will meet in a regular meeting venue each week to socialize and participate in sport based activities. They will also particpate in our enterprise and employment projects

Disabled young people often feel shut out of decisions made about their own lives, because of communication difficulties and a lack of confidence in arguing for what they want. We aim to support disabed young people to develop confidence and self esteem as well as achieve new qualification that will boost their employability and prospects.

Blue River have recently undergone an assessment of our premises and policies by Birmingham Disability Network and BVSC to ensure they are suitable for disabled service users. We have recieve support form NV Volunteering to make changes to our services to ensure we can provide the best possible support to disabled service users
